On November 4th 2011, Eltel Networks S.A. signed a contract with the representatives of City Hall for building broadband MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) in Rybnik, Poland.
According to the terms of the contract, Eltel Networks will build the broadband network across the town of Rybnik in the next two years. The new infrastructure will not only link local institutions but, above all, it will also ensure fast internet access to the inhabitants. The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of existing infrastructure by building backbone networks connecting all the public institutions in Rybnik.
New possibilities regarding communications, education and public safety – these are just a few fields that can benefit from the systems based on the new broadband network to be built.
As emphasized by Przemysław Fabiś, the President of Eltel Networks S.A., Rybnik perfectly sensed the moment to commence the investment. Thanks to that, Rybnik is one of the very first towns in Poland to put this kind of project into action.
The value of the project is estimated at 13 million zlotys. Its completion is scheduled for the end of September 2013.
