Eltel Networks builds fourth-generation mobile network for Huawei

Also awarded with Huawei's European prestigious partner prize.

Eltel Networks has signed a contract with the Chinese telecom supplier Huawei to build fourth-generation mobile network, known as LTE networks.

The contract means that Eltel Networks gets the largest share of the expansion, and will be responsible for installation and commissioning of both radio link and radio base stations. Owner of the network to be built across the country is Net4Mobility, which is a joint venture between Tele2 and Telenor.

"This contract is very exciting for us as Huawei is a strong player, which in recent years, has gained market share worldwide in both fixed and mobile networks. Further proof, that our partnership with Huawei works very well, is that Eltel as one of two suppliers in the Nordic countries have received an award for best partner in our geography", said Casimir Lindholm, CEO, Eltel Networks Sweden.
