Eltel launches new branding and strengthens its position in Infranets

Eltel has launched this morning its new brand image at the same time of launching a new website. “Having been 10 years the pioneer of establishing the Infranet service industry and leading the development of outsourcings with Nordic network owners and operators we considered it right to refresh our brand image”, says Mr. Axel Hjärne, President and CEO of Eltel Group. “The new Eltel brand is extensively presented on today’s website. The core of change is a more comprehensive coverage of various Infranet needs in the modern society. Our solutions cover 10 different areas of customer sectors from Power to Telecom to Transportation to Homeland Security and finally to Enterprise Communications.”

As part of the new market strategy Eltel has established new international Business Units with the following appointments:
- Mr. Fredrik Häggström, President of Eltel Rail
- Mr. Sonny Nielsen,  President of Eltel Mobile Telecom
Sonny Nielsen will also continue as the President of Eltel Denmark. He is also the acting leader of the international Smart Metering business unit until the appointment of a new leader is taking place. -Other international Business Units are Power Transmission, Homeland Security and Aviation.

Eltel is also strengthening its position as developer and provider of services to smart grids. Mr. Janne Raatikainen has assumed the position as Director of Eltel Smart Grid business. Eltel is currently launching new solutions for sub-stations, wind power and charging of electric vehicles. “We expect the new areas to represent significant part of Eltel’s future sales”, says Mr. Hjärne. “Eltel has an excellent position as the integrator of know-how in the areas of electricity, telecommunication and IT. Our competences and customer experience are unique in the industry, and we aim to be the absolute Infranet service leader in these sectors.”

Eltel has recently signed new customer contracts in the areas of future growth. These include in Rail the 5 year  IT infrastructure contract with Banedanmark. Eltel is in charge of operating, maintaining, consultancy and monitoring of the transmission facilities. Just a couple of months earlier Eltel won a similar 3 year contract with the Swedish Transport Administration for maintenance and construction of their ICT facilities throughout Sweden. In December Eltel signed a contract on an erection project of wind turbines in Estonia. In Smart Metering Eltel is starting an installation of 0,5 million metering points for Fortum in Finland. Eltel signed also new contracts with the defence sector in Sweden at the end of 2010.
